Mr. John Schneider is the current band director. The 2019-2020 season will be his seventh year as the director of the band. Mr. Schneider is a Polar Bear Band alumnus, class of '03. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Fairmont State University. Before returning to Fairmont Senior High School, Mr. Schneider directed the Barrackville and Fairview Middle School Bands for three years. Mr. Schneider's wife, Danielle Schneider, works as the Resident Program Manager in the Ophthalmology Department at West Virginia University Hospital. She is a is also a Polar Bear Band alumnus, class of  '06. She was a 3-year member of the Color Guard. She is currently the Color Guard instructor and has been for 9 years. Mr. and Mrs. Schneider have twin sons, Benjamin and Jacob. Jimmy Halpenny is the current percussion instructor, also being an alumnus of the Polar Bear Band.
